Túcume
Tucume, Peru. 2002-03-24.

Near Chiclayo there are two major archeological sites, Túcume and Sipan. I went to to Túcume mostly because I figured out how to get there.

Túcume is known for the largest adobe structures in Peru predating the Incas. It was hard to see these structures, a good part was left for the imagination. Without a closer inspection, I could think that large machines just dug out pyramids from the sand and claim that these were prehistoric findings.

From what I have read and heard since, it seems I should have gone to Sipan.
